Give Me 10 was founded in 2013 in response to students, who depend on school meals, facing hunger during school breaks. Supported by the community and local schools, Give Me 10 has met the food, clothing and other daily needs of more than 200 East Nashville families.

Give Me 10 is a 501(c)3 nonprofit currently working exclusively in East Nashville, which has six districts with a 30% poverty rate or higher – (2x the national rate). In Nashville: 18% of households face food insecurity, according to Metro Social Services, and some 30% of requests for food aid went unmet, according to a 2012 report. (The Tennessean) In many East Nashville schools between 84% and 98% of the students qualify for free and reduced lunch. The reality for many of these students and their families, is that once they leave school they don't know where their next meal is coming from.
